My name is Jisele.  I love to belly dance and feed my body with simple yet nutritionally packed foods. 
I eat fresh, preferably organic fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, green smoothies and fresh vegetable/fruit juices.  Yum!
Since I have been a belly dancer for 25 years along with being a raw food enthusiast for over 5 years I feel phenominal in my body.
I find that I have more energy, clarity and peace of mind.  I always get compliments about how slender I am and I'm enjoying my life!
Oh did I mention that I am 54 years young and loving every minute of it!

Nutrition and Conscious Eating

Proper nutrition is not only about eating the right diet that supports and balances the body but it is also about nurturing the whole picture which is
mind, body and spirit.

There are so many choices and so many "How To's".  The word diet alone can be confusing.  What does diet stand for? D-Do, I-I, E-Eat, T-That?  I couldn't resist.  Websters definition of "Diet" is; "To eat or drink according to a prescribed regimen."  So diet really isn't a bad word even if it is a four letter word.

Sometimes keeping a food journal and really tuning in to how you feel after each meal will help to find what is right for you.  At times balancing the
nutrition for your body can be overwhelming.                                                                                                               
There is so much information and discussions on fats, no fat, low fat, carbs, protein, baked, raw....holy cow that is enough to make anyones head spin. 
If you think spiritual enlightenment is a process think again.  Compared to the right way of eating I think attaining spiritual enlightenment is a piece of
cake.....(no pun intended). Just kidding!

Considering the Mind-Body Connection, it is understandable why stressed spelled backwards spells desserts.

I don't claim to be a nutritional guru but I am aware of the importance of getting the right balance of nutrition in order to be able to function in a
healthy way, physically, mentally, emotionally and hormonally.  Yes our hormones are affected by how we feed our bodies.  Finding that balance is
different for every person.  We are all unique and have our own special requirements.

I would like to share some thoughts on several possible dietary options.  Conscious Eating would be at the top of my list.  Eating consciously meaning eating slowly, chewing well and actually tasting every bite should be of utmost importance.  For one because digestion starts in the mouth and proper health depends on a healthy digestive process.

And what is all the fuss about Raw Foods/Cooked Foods?  Considering the fact that you still have your enzymes and vitamins in live foods and most are
destroyed in cooked foods gives you something to ponder.
Adding Supplements to your diet such as vitamins and Herbs can be helpful in finding your nutritional balance but with so many choices how do you chose which is right for you?

And then there is the subject of Superfoods.  Some examples of Superfoods are Goji berries, Maca, Ginseng, Raw Cacao and much more. These are
foods that really feed and support the body system in a powerful way.

Belly Dance to Feel Alive!

Belly Dance is a fantastic fitness program which helps you to feel great in your body as you are firming and toning.  My love of the dance started
about 25 years ago.
As I continued to learn through different instructors as well as being self taught I noticed that the confidence in myself was growing.
Belly Dancing is indeed a wonderful confidence builder and it creates more awareness in your body.  It helps you to "tune in" more to what your body
is feeling.
One of the things I love about Belly Dance from my observation as an Instructor is to watch women blossom from shy and self conscious to confident
and strong.
 It is absolutely magical to witness!
